Who I Am
I live, breathe, and ♥ UX, I believe in the best possible user experiences. I probably know more about Windows than is healthy. I also dabble in side projects, mostly light web or app development and I try nearly every beta or new technology that shows up, and have plenty of nerdy opinions about them to bore others. I listen to tech podcasts, digest nerdy blogs, and have even been known to read MSDN or TechNet publications for their entertainment value alone.
When I’m not indulging my nerdy tendencies, I am working out (#beastmode), riding my motorcycle, enjoying the outdoors, or playing video games (CmdrKeene on Xbox). My tunes include classic/alternative rock, or about anything with a solid beat.
This site is a chronicle of all of the above. Explore any category on this site for more details on my interests and progress, and feel free to chime in on any post. I am sometimes a little too opinionated, but I love having discussions and learning others’ points of view too. No topic is taboo to me, just have respect, cool?
What I Do
At present I am proudly employed as an Operational Excellence analyst at Teleflora, a floral wire-service and technology services company owned by Roll Global, where my day to day involves analytics, business intelligence, and process improvement.
I’m also a
newly twice three-times awarded Microsoft MVP as a subject matter expert of the consumer line of Windows. MVPs are not Microsoft employees, rather enthusiasts who are active in the community and helps others understand technologies and how to use them. We are industry professionals that use Microsoft technologies everyday and are in a position to provide you with objective views of technology. Chances are if you’re having a problem with a given technology, an MVP in that expertise has probably already been there and knows how to fix it.
I also regularly volunteer assistance to technology support discussion sites, including TechNet and Microsoft Community, you can find me in the Windows forums. You can also tweet me publicly @LtCmdrKeene where I will usually respond fairly timely.
I offer technology services to individuals and small business. If you’re interested in exploring how low-cost (or even free) technology can improve your business and bottom line, please contact me or book a free consultation session. See my Services page for details.
